NCWorks Career Center Asheville staff are unable to assist you with filing unemployment claims, nor are we able to access your existing claim to provide assistance.
To file a new unemployment claim, the fastest and most efficient method is online at www.des.nc.gov.
Any problems that you are experiencing can be resolved by reaching out to the Division of Employment Security Customer Call Center. There are 4 ways to receive assistance:

Call 1-888-737-0259. Due to extremely high call volume, wait times can be lengthy.

Send an email to des.ui.customerservice@nccommerce.com. In the email, be clear on what type of problem you are having and attach any documentation to support the problem. It is also helpful to include the last 4 digits of your Social Security #, your telephone number and your Claimant ID (if you know it).

Fill out the online form at www.des.nc.gov/customer-contact-form and explain what type of problem you are having. Note that some fields marked with an * are required.

If you are having problems with accessing your account due to email address, password, or PIN issues, send an email to NCDESpasswordhelp@nccommerce.com and they will be able to assist you with a reset of your account.
